Augos Sense / Commercial & industrial
Commercial and industrial monitoring
Measure your pipes and tanks, wirelessly.
Pressure, flow and level in your pipes and tanks, plus gas and leak detection, measured continuously. Get alerted the moment a reading passes a limit you set.
Augos Sense is wireless IoT sensing for South African sites: battery-powered sensors that measure temperature, humidity, air quality, level, flow, pressure and equipment state, one cloud platform that checks every reading against the limits you set and alerts on WhatsApp, email or SMS, and switches and valves that act on your rules.
Priced per sensor, plus connectivity and the platform, quoted ex VAT
A single sensor can be live in 48 hours, with no wiring to run.
The problem
You cannot see what is happening inside your pipes and tanks.
Pressure, flow and level run a lot of a plant, but most of it is read off a gauge someone walks past, if at all. A leak or a blockage can run for hours before anyone notices.
1
Leaks that run for hours
A leak on a line wastes product and water, and often the first sign is the bill or a puddle on the floor.
2
A tank that runs dry, or over
Without a level sensor, a tank overflows or runs empty, stopping a process or making a mess.
3
Pressure you assume
You assume a line is flowing at pressure until a pump fails or a filter blocks, and production drops.
4
Gas you cannot account for
Industrial gas use and leaks go unmeasured, wasting money and creating a hazard.
The method
One sensor turns a blind spot into a live reading.
Put a sealed, battery-powered sensor on each condition you care about. It reports to one cloud platform, and Augos does the watching, so you only hear about it when something moves.
1
Measure it
A wireless sensor on each condition, reporting as often as every minute, on a battery, with no wiring to run.
2
Get told
Set the range that matters. The moment a reading passes it, you get a message on WhatsApp, email or SMS.
3
Act on it
Shut a valve or trip a pump automatically on a level, pressure or leak reading, or send someone before it becomes a mess.
What we measure
The pipe and tank parameters.
Each parameter is a separate sensor, so you deploy only the ones you need and add more anytime.
Pressure (pipe)
Pressure inside a pipe or vessel.
In the knowledge base ›Flow (pipe)
Flow rate through a pipe.
In the knowledge base ›Level (tanks/silos)
Fill level in a tank or silo.
In the knowledge base ›Industrial gas level
Level or concentration of a process gas.
In the knowledge base ›Leak detection
Escaping liquid or gas.
In the knowledge base ›Temperature
Process and fluid temperature.
In the knowledge base ›Equipment temperature
Surface or bearing temperature.
In the knowledge base ›Vibration
Vibration on pumps and motors.
In the knowledge base ›Humidity
Air moisture in storage.
In the knowledge base ›Dew point
Condensation on cold surfaces.
In the knowledge base ›Water quality
Conductivity of process water.
In the knowledge base ›Alerts and thresholds
Set the limits that matter, and hear about it the moment a threshold is exceeded.
Set an upper limit, a lower limit, or both for any sensor here. The instant a reading passes it, the person who can act gets a message, on WhatsApp, email or SMS.
Tank level against a lower limit
IllustrativeMessage sent
Tank level is below its limit
19 % at 16:00, under your 20 % lower limit.
The warning came with stock still in the tank, not when it ran dry.
Illustrative tank and readings, not a customer. The limit, the recipients and the channel are the ones you set.
Use cases
Where sites put it to work.
Leak detection
Catch a leak on a line the moment it starts, before it becomes product on the floor.
Tank and silo levels
Know what is in every tank and silo, and get warned before it runs dry or overflows.
Line pressure and flow
Watch pressure and flow, so a failing pump or a blocked filter shows up straight away.
Gas monitoring
Track industrial gas level and use, and alert the moment there is a leak.
Water and effluent
Flow and level on supply and effluent lines, metered and watched around the clock.
Boiler and steam
Pressure and level on steam and hot-water systems, watched continuously for safety.
The hardware
Sealed sensors for pipes and tanks.
Sealed, battery-powered sensors that fit onto a tank or read the meters you already have, reporting pressure, flow and level over low-power wireless with no wiring to run. As the KB specifies them:
- Water level sensor: pressure at the bottom of a tank, 0 to 200 m, accurate to ±2 %.
- Pulse sensor: reads any pulse-output water, fuel or compressed-gas meter, so the meter stays in place.
- Battery: up to 2 years per charge on the level sensor, up to 5 years on the pulse sensor.
- Connectivity: cellular, NB-IoT or LoRa, and LTE-M on the pulse sensor.

Start small
Start with a single sensor.
No rip-and-replace and no commitment: a single sensor can be live in 48 hours, and you add more once it proves out. Sensors mount magnetically, with no wiring to run and no calibration to perform.
Augos Sense is priced in three parts: the sensors, priced per sensor by what each one is built to measure; connectivity, a monthly cost per sensor; and the platform, one charge per deployment. Figures on request: we size a quote, ex VAT, to the sensors and sites you need.
Questions
How do the sensors connect?
Wirelessly, over LoRa, NB-IoT or Sigfox, chosen for the coverage and density of your site. There is no wiring to run.
How long do the batteries last?
Years, depending on the sensor and how often it reports: the temperature sensor runs up to about two years on a full charge, configuration dependent. Sensors report at intervals you set, from once a minute to a few times an hour, and need no mains and no cabling.
How fast can we install?
A single sensor can be live in 48 hours. Sensors mount magnetically, with no wiring and no calibration, so a site electrician or your own team can fit them without downtime. You add more sensors and sites the same way.
What can it alert on, and how?
Set an upper limit, a lower limit or a rate of change on any sensor. The moment one is passed, the right person gets a message on WhatsApp, email or SMS.
Where does the data go?
Into one cloud platform, hosted in South Africa. Watch it live, set alerts, chart it, or take it out as a download, by API or as an AI-ready export.
How are you priced?
Per sensor, plus connectivity monthly and the platform per deployment, quoted ex VAT. The single-sensor pilot is the standard way in.
