Augos Sense / Control & automation
Intelligent control and automation
Switch and control, on your own rules.
Switch load, valves and equipment on your own rules: a schedule, loadshedding, a time-of-use tariff, or a live reading from another sensor. Set it once, and Augos acts.
Augos Sense is wireless IoT sensing for South African sites: battery-powered sensors that measure temperature, humidity, air quality, level, flow, pressure and equipment state, one cloud platform that checks every reading against the limits you set and alerts on WhatsApp, email or SMS, and switches and valves that act on your rules.
Priced per sensor, plus connectivity and the platform, quoted ex VAT
A single sensor can be live in 48 hours, with no wiring to run.
The problem
You are reacting to tariffs and loadshedding by hand.
Switching load for a tariff window or loadshedding, or opening a valve on a schedule, all of it depends on someone remembering to do it at the right moment. Miss it, and it costs you.
1
Expensive hours
Running heavy load in a peak tariff window costs far more, yet nothing switches it off on its own.
2
Loadshedding scramble
When the power drops, someone has to switch equipment down safely, and switch it back, every single time.
3
Irrigation by memory
Valves opened and closed by hand get forgotten, over-watering one block and starving another.
4
Tanks by guesswork
A pump started and stopped by hand lets a tank run dry or overflow when no one is there.
The method
Set the rule once, and Augos does the switching.
Control is the acting layer. Tell Augos what to switch and when, and it moves a switch or a valve on its own: on a schedule, in line with loadshedding, by time-of-use tariff, or on a live reading from any sensor.
1
Measure the driver
The tariff clock, the loadshedding schedule, or a live reading from any Augos sensor, whatever the decision runs on.
2
Set the rule
Switch off in a peak tariff window, shed non-critical load ahead of a stage, or open a valve on a schedule.
3
It acts on its own
A switch or a valve moves automatically, and you get a message confirming it, or warning you if it did not.
What we control
The switches and valves.
Each is a wireless control device you add where you need it, on the same platform as your sensors.
Airswitch
A wireless switch for remote on and off.
In the knowledge base ›Loadshedding switch
Sheds or restores load around loadshedding.
In the knowledge base ›Tariff switch
Switches load by time-of-use tariff.
In the knowledge base ›4-channel valve controller
Solar-powered control of up to four valves.
In the knowledge base ›Valve scheduler
Battery-powered scheduling of a valve.
In the knowledge base ›Alerts and thresholds
Set the limits that matter, and hear about it the moment a threshold is exceeded.
Set the reading that should act: a tank level, a temperature, a tariff window or loadshedding. The instant it is reached, the switch moves and you get a message, on WhatsApp, email or SMS.
Tank level held in a band by a pump rule
IllustrativeMessage sent
Pump started by rule
Tank at 29 % at 06:00, under the 30 % start level. Switch confirmed.
No one on site: the rule starts and stops the pump, and each switch is recorded with the reading behind it.
Illustrative tank, pump and readings, not a customer. The levels and the rule are the ones you set.
Use cases
Where sites put it to work.
Follow the tariff
Move heavy load out of expensive windows on your tariff, on its own.
Ride out loadshedding
Switch equipment down and back up safely around a loadshedding schedule.
Automate irrigation
Open and close valves on a schedule, or on a live soil-moisture reading, with no one on site.
Remote sites
Switch a pump or a gate at a site with no one there, from the platform or on a rule.
Tank and pump control
Start and stop a pump on a tank level, so it never runs dry or overflows.
Temperature control
Cut a heater or fan once a reading reaches its limit.
The hardware
Wireless switches and valves.
Wireless switches and valve controllers that act on your rules and report every switch back to the platform: time on and off, the reason, and the reading behind it. As the KB specifies them:
- Airswitch: LTE or LoRa models, AC 110 or 220 V, or DC 12 or 24 V.
- Outputs: AC or DC power switching, plus a dry contact for larger loads such as pumps and HVAC through external contactors.
- Mounting: DIN rail, in a distribution board or panel. A manual override is always available.
- Valve controllers: solar-powered control of up to four valves, or battery-powered valve scheduling.

Start small
Start with a single sensor.
No rip-and-replace and no commitment: a single sensor can be live in 48 hours, and you add more once it proves out. Sensors mount magnetically, with no wiring to run and no calibration to perform.
Augos Sense is priced in three parts: the sensors, priced per sensor by what each one is built to measure; connectivity, a monthly cost per sensor; and the platform, one charge per deployment. Figures on request: we size a quote, ex VAT, to the sensors and sites you need.
Questions
How do the sensors connect?
Wirelessly, over LoRa, NB-IoT or Sigfox, chosen for the coverage and density of your site. There is no wiring to run.
How long do the batteries last?
Years, depending on the sensor and how often it reports: the temperature sensor runs up to about two years on a full charge, configuration dependent. Sensors report at intervals you set, from once a minute to a few times an hour, and need no mains and no cabling.
How fast can we install?
A single sensor can be live in 48 hours. Sensors mount magnetically, with no wiring and no calibration, so a site electrician or your own team can fit them without downtime. You add more sensors and sites the same way.
What can it alert on, and how?
Set an upper limit, a lower limit or a rate of change on any sensor. The moment one is passed, the right person gets a message on WhatsApp, email or SMS.
Where does the data go?
Into one cloud platform, hosted in South Africa. Watch it live, set alerts, chart it, or take it out as a download, by API or as an AI-ready export.
How are you priced?
Per sensor, plus connectivity monthly and the platform per deployment, quoted ex VAT. The single-sensor pilot is the standard way in.
